Objective 


To equip public sector professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively communicate within the organisation/ department, across different forums, and with diverse stakeholders, including high-ranking civil servants.

The workshop will focus on providing practical strategies for creating briefing notes and correspondence for top government officials, including Ministers and their reporting advisors.

Learning Outcome 


  • Participants will be able to articulate the importance of effective internal communication in the public sector and recognise its impact on organisational success.
  • Gain insights into common challenges faced in internal communication within the public sector and be equipped with strategies to leverage opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop skills to navigate and contribute effectively in meetings, employ proper email etiquette, and utilise digital platforms for seamless communication within your organisation.
  • Identify and categorise key stakeholders, create tailored communication strategies for different stakeholder groups, and address communication challenges with diplomatic approaches.
  • Understand the structure and components of effective briefing notes and correspondence, and they will be able to apply this knowledge through practical exercises.
  • Engage in discussions and activities that simulate real-world scenarios in the public sector, allowing them to apply the concepts learned during the workshop.
  • Participants will leave the workshop with personalised action plans outlining how they will integrate the workshop learnings into their daily roles, contributing to improved internal communication within their respective departments.

Assessment 


Assessment of the learning outcomes can be conducted through group discussions, case study analyses, and practical exercises. Participants’ ability to apply the concepts in real-world scenarios and their engagement in Q&A sessions will also serve as indicators of successful learning.
